You would like to post on my blog or linkedin feed

I get asked this quite a lot, and I always say no.

The integrity of this blog is important to me – I write every post myself, and I believe in what I write, every time, 100%.

Just one guest post would undermine that whole position.

This blog doesn’t have that many readers, so I don’t think there would ever be a match between what I would want you to pay and what it would be worth you paying.

My linkedin feed is similar, except much bigger. It has gradually grown to a quarter of a million followers because it’s written by ME, it has a distinctive chatty, thoughtful and direct personal style, and it’s underscored by my position as a leading author on Linkedin Learning (I think I am number 3 in the world on management subjects, plus or minus a couple of positions). People who have taken my courses regard me (rightly or wrongly!) as an authority on the subjects of the courses, so my posts do have influence.

I’m really proud of my linkedin feed and my reputation on there. I don’t want to dilute it, sully it, or jeopardise it. I post every day, and I think a lot about it. I don’t need material, and I’m not looking for another source of income.

But would I write a linkedin post for a sponsor (or let them write it?) for enough money? The answer is probably yes, if….

a) it was about something that I do believe in / agree with

b) it genuinely adds value for my readers

c) it was clearly labelled as an advert or PR post

d) the fee made it worth doing.

Fees: for an hour of zoom training I charge £850, so if dealing with a suggested post is going to take an hour (and much less of a fun hour than training a group of people) (and yes, it always will, by the time we’ve agreed the wording, sorted out payment etc) then it’s got to be more than that.

A quick google gave me this:
