When you’re using PowerPoint you can have something different on your computer than the audience see on the big screen.
 .
How to get it….  Open Powerpoint:     View / Presenter Tools
 .
this is what you see on your computer screen – nice!

Why it’s good
 – see your notes but the audience can’t
 – see the next page that’s coming up but the audience can’t
 .
Why it’s a bad idea
 – addictive, what if you turn up somewhere or have to use someone else’s PC and they don’t have it!
 – takes away your eye contact from the audience
 – you have to stand by your PC rather than roam
 – if you look at your PC rather than the big screen so will the audience, and you want them looking at the big screen rather than at you
 .
But…..  why not do both?  Have it so that occasionally you can see what’s coming up, if you need to, but mainly still be cued by your visual aids on the big screen, as you roam around stylishly clicking with the remote in your pocket or hidden in your hand.
