Zoom makes it possible to train people who are abroad, or spread around the country, and it also makes it financially viable to train in chunks of one hour rather than a whole day since there’s no travel required. this changes everything.
Although, I believe that for training it’s still best to have the face to face interaction – the speed and timing of humour and discussions generally, and the interaction between everyone in the group, outweighs the above advantages.
So I think that Zoom will be used more, for special cases, but for most training of groups we’ll revert to all meeting together as soon as Covid is over.
Where I think there WILL be a larger shift is with coaching. Zoom is perfect for 1:1 coaching – still not quite as impactful as being face to face, but by avoiding travel it makes coaching much more affordable, and training + coaching is the ideal combination. So I think there’ll a big growth in zoom coaching now that we have all used Zoom and can see how easy it is.
